600 cars removed from car carrier2017-03-30
In October a fire broke out on board the in Antwerp moored car carrier Silver Sky. It took three days before the fire was extinguished. At the time of the outbreak of the fire, the ship was loaded with used cars that were designated for Africa. The cars suffered irreparable damage by the fire.
About 600 burned cars are removed by KOOLE Contractors from the 182 meter long car carrier. The cars were taken from the ship using wheel loaders and lined up on the dock. The vehicles with fire damage are treated as hazardous materials, and further processed that meets specific safety requirements.
